short work stand
« on: May 18, 2010, 01:52:32 PM »
Does anybody use a short work stand just to raise the back wheel off the ground?  I am thinking of one made of pvc that is just 6 inches tall or so.  Pictures or plans would be appreciated.

I use one of these for a lot of "stuff":

I've seen others advertise one like it, but don't remember who.

I've built several work stands out of PVC.  The latest one can be used as a short or tall one by adding extensions which is now at the LBS where I assemble trikes for them.  I got tired of trying to use their conventional "industrial strength" work stands for trike building.  David has the plans for it.  Maybe he'll post 'em again (hint hint-wink wink)

Sure, I can post the plans for a PVC stand but I think it is more that what he is looking for.  The one that Jim gave the link for sure looks like it would fit the bill.  If you need a full blown workstand, let me know and I'll send them to you.
