No updates to give. It's still set for the 23rd, 24th and 25th. Show up whenever you like. I think Gabe (gmrviper) is coming on Thursday evening so we can get some work done on his trike before the masses converge on ground zero.
The weekend is wide open. I plan to shoot for a gathering time of around 10am on Saturday to give everybody a leizurely wake up time and to have breakfast. We will meet here at the house and then will have to caravan out to the lake, which is about 35 miles away. We can stop to pick up some sandwiches to take with us. There is a marina with drinks, and maybe even some sandwiches, too. I'll check on that.
Our trails out there are layed out so that we can pick whatever distance we feel comfortable with. They wind in and out of the woods and along the shore of the lake. There are boat rentals if somebody wants to take a tour on the lake. Lots of camping spaces available for anybody who wishes to do that. Their hot showers are really nice.
Everything will be played by ear! If I hear somebody say they want to do this or that, and we all want to, then we will do that! I sorta plan to do a backyard BBQ (burgers and dogs) if the weather is nice in the evening on Saturday. I'm hoping Duk will come and bring his personal brownie baker, Miss Dona!
If weather is bad, we will simply eat brownies and go through all of our trikes with a fine tooth comb and wait out the weather like we did over a year ago. Just bring your trikes with clean chains.
Just like the last time, this all started when Bill and I decided to get together for some trike shinanigans, then I found out that my buddy Action Lad was looking for something to do on his upcoming vacation break. David had been talking all summer long about coming for a visit, so we got all of our schedules worked together and had a great weekend in late September/early October. David and I really enjoyed almost a whole week together. He flew in and rode Tony Trike all the time. The first day they were here, it rained, so Cindy whipped out a couple batches of brownies and we played with our trikes all day. Bill, David and Key slept on cotts and air matresses. We had bodies and trikes laying all around the house!
The whole brownie thing started when I used them to entice Bill to come down for some riding. Like I needed brownies to do that!
OK, Dennis, get off the fence and just do it! We would love to have Mrs. T come too! So far there will be four other SO's here for sure, including Cindy. If Mrs. T and Dona come, there will be six! I'm also hoping Gabe will bring his wife, too, so there will be seven. If you come on Saturday, we can coordinate a meeting place at the lake if you can't be here before about 10am.
There will be three Holey terrors at this rally! Holey Spokes, Piccolo Pockets and Cat-Tastrophy! All three of their engines will be pretty puny after a long, cold winter around here, though!
So, Dennis, the decision has been made! You WILL be here! You, too, Duk, and gmrviper! Trikebldr says so!
I was hoping that David and Gerrie could come, too, but it ain't lookin' good. I had offered them the bed in my motorhome, to help defray costs, and will make the same offer to whoever speaks up first. It has no water or faclities right now, but can be set up quickly for comfortable sleeping. It does have satellite DirecTV for any of you insomniacs, like me!
